Damn

And if they will not repent and believe in his name, and be baptized in his name, and endure to the end, they must be damned; for the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has spoken it. (2 Ne 9:24)

I was thinking about the use of the word ‘damned’ this morning.

Until this morning, I always viewed the usage of this word to mean that one’s eternal progression would be stopped. However, in the real sense of a damn, the progression of water is not stopped, but simply hindered and then controlled.

I wonder if Jacob had this in mind when he used the analogy.

Uh…yeah…so…um…scratch that.

  1. Um, I don’t know about Canada, but in the U.S., water is “dammed.”
