  1. A good but all-too-rare example of common sense overcoming an overinclusive law. Since actual weapons pose a danger at school, we ban everything that resembles a real weapon, including these ceremonial symbols that are about sharp enough to slice warm butter. Amazingly, the court focused on the actual dangers posed rather than on mere mechanical reading of the statute. Congratulations!

    You know, the cross is an instrument of torture. Do you think all those Christian students should be allowed to bring torture instruments to school, hung around their necks?
