Maybe to avoid a boring life of difficult concentration and bishops falling asleep, avoid the bible and the bishops. Religion IS boring, go out and enjoy your life, study the endless mindblowing facts in the REAL WORLD. I've done studies upon studies and the truth is, the least developed countries with the highest infant death rates and the lowest life expectancies are the countries that believe in God the most. It's fact, anyone can look it up. Wasting all of your time on religion is very well the actual cause of learning disability.

Good tip, ldsuk87. I used to have French Book of Momron I did this with for a while. I can't find it anymore though, and the Plus-que-parfait proliferation really threw me off.

I can't say I've experienced this question when going for a recommend interview - but then I've only had one!

To be perfectly honest, we have a member of our Bishopric like that - if anything, he keeps us entertained as alert to what is happening so I should thank him for falling asleep.
Something I find helps me, is studying the scriptures in another language with the English in front of you also - but naturally you can only do this if you speak/are learning a foreign language. It really helps me to delve into the verse and understand it as I go through because I have to think that little bit more than usual about what the words are saying.

There's no citation, rick. It's just George's experience.

"The new temple recommend question regarding if you voted for people who represent LDS values or not should make the recommend process more interesting."

Citation needed here.

If they are indeed asking this question, I'm quite surprised.

I love it when all three members of the Bishopric fall asleep and their mouths make funny shapes.

Church used to be exciting when members were allowed to discuss the deep dark secrets of the gospel. The new way of teaching the same old primary stories to adults is really quite boring after you have heard it 100's of times.

"That is the last thing a ward needs: their bishop falling asleep during Sacrament or having glazed over eyes during an interview."

That sounds like most bishops I have known.
