It isn’t?
Making weapons that are that much better than your enemy would allow for unheard of successes. There is also zero evidence for the use of metallurgy sophisticated enough to be used as weapons in any areas on north, central or south america.
Given the fact that it would have been incredibly useful, I find it odd that the neighbouring tribes would completely forget about it and go on using unsophisticated tools of obsidian and soft metals.
