14 Years

Kissy kissy

Mary and I celebrated 14 years of marriage last week. It passed quite uneventfully.

We had agreed?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùfor reasons I can no longer remember?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùnot to buy one another presents this year. Last week was a very busy week, and we didn’t get a chance to do anything with just the two of us.

I’ve been percolating this all in my mind over the last few days. As a result, I feel like I haven’t done anything at all to show appreciation for the last 14 years.

But there is still something I can do that still falls within the limits we set this year; something that is sincere; something that can reach further into Mary’s heart than most any material item.

Poetry.

Mary knows that I am not fond of non-rhyming poetry although I have written a free-verse poem or two in my time. So here goes.

My love for you occupies my entire soul.
It erodes every one of my hours.
It motivates my every action.
It engulfs each of my senses.
It fertilizes my imagination.
It extinguishes my anger.
It ignites my creativity.
It satiates my desires.
It drives my dreams.
It encourages me.
It comforts me.
It inspires me.
It defines me.
For 14 years.
For ever.

Thank you, Mary.

  1. Great job so far and good luck on year 15 – more of the same but you are just a little bit more tired.

  2. Thanks, Johnna and TStevens.

I am progressively more tired every year, TStevens, so I think you are on to something.

  3. Heartiest wishes for you Kim and Mary!! Wish to see you celebrating your 25th Year!!!
