Were you truly remorseful?

Let’s say you do something you feel is wrong, but this action requires no restitution to anyone but God. Now let’s say you recognize what you did was wrong, and you pray to God to say sorry and to ask for forgiveness.

Now let’s say throught the day—and perhaps over the next few days—the action keeps coming to your mind.

Do you suppose it keeps coming to your mind because you werent truly remoresful?

  1. I think the action coming back to your mind is just one of the consequences of sin, even if you have repented. You just have to push it back out of your mind. I know that’s easier said than done, but that doesn’t make it less necessary. (And when I say “you” I didn’t mean, YOU, Kim-just to be clear)

  2. I agree with Heidi… I think forgiving yourself is much harder then Heavenly Father and or leaders telling you are forgiven. For me, at least it helps remind me how stupid I was for having done “that” in the first place

  3. I think much more than being remorseful, it is more about the sin which has been committed and its coming back to you again.
