Calgarians break ground on long-awaited temple

A massive temple that will serve as many as 20,000 Calgary-area Mormons broke ground on a residential hilltop in the northwest Saturday.

More than 1,000 people, including the mayor, several aldermen, MLAs and an MP oversaw the ceremony, which marks the beginning of construction on what will become the third Mormon temple in Alberta.
