Five ways to help your children become independent

The following list is found in the March 2012 Ensign:

  1. Look for opportunities to allow your children to do things for themselves, even if it means more work for you.
  2. Teach your children to work.
  3. Teach your children that choices have consequences.
  4. Stand up and be courageous.
  5. Allow your children to have heartaches and setbacks.

  1. I am going to be a mom in two month’s time and I am super excited. Although it will still take a longer time for my son to grow up and understand things and life, I will surely follow this list to make him independent know how to live life properly. :)
