Patience and job loss

Two days ago, I was called into the office of the chief operations officer where I work and was told I was being laid off. Last time I was laid off, I received 7 months worth of severance pay, which cushioned the blow. This time, I get no severance pay, but I have two weeks of work left.

Needless to say, it is stressful in our home.

Then that night, while reading D&C 24 as part of our companionship study, Mary and I came across verse 8:

Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days.

It sure seemed timely and was a good reminder. Still looking for a job though. :)

  1. Loosing your job is one of the most stressful things that can happen. But keeping a positive and hopeful attitude will help you get through this period. When I was first self employed I sometimes had a nightmare that I lost my job. When I woke up I was relived to remember that I was the boss so no one could fire me. Then came the recrssiion…
